Amazon has introduced two new personal AI devices under its Bee brand: Bee Frontier, a wrist or clip-on wearable available now for US$74.99, and Bee Eclipse, a magnetic phone attachment that will be available soon starting at US$99.99. The announcement is in an Amazon Staff post on aboutamazon.com dated 15 October 2026.
Bee is pitched as ambient personal AI that turns conversations into summaries, to-dos, reminders and insights so users can “stay more present.” Frontier and Eclipse expand the line beyond the earlier Bee Pioneer.
Bee Frontier — on sale now
Frontier can be worn on the wrist or clipped to clothing. Amazon lists three colours — Onyx, Lavender and Sage — and says the device has:
- IP67 water resistance
- Up to seven days of battery life
- USB-C charging
- Dual microphones with noise filtering for noisy environments
Amazon says users control when audio is processed with a microphone button and a visible indicator light, and can configure the device to turn off automatically if no sound is detected for a set period.
Bee Eclipse — coming soon, not on sale yet
Eclipse is about the size of a credit card and attaches magnetically to the back of a phone. Amazon says it offers more than 21 days of battery life on a single charge and works like Frontier for conversation summaries, insights and to-dos. Colours listed are Silver, Midnight, Honey and Blush. Eclipse is not yet on sale; Amazon only says it will be available soon from US$99.99.
Software connections
Beyond hardware, Amazon says Bee can now connect to:
- Alexa+ — hands-free access to summaries, insights and to-dos
- Amazon.com — product recommendations on the Amazon homepage and in Bee apps based on items the user mentions
- A new desktop app alongside the mobile app
- Gmail, Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook and Apple HealthKit, plus photo integration for visual daily memories
After a call or meeting, Amazon says Bee can surface action items, draft follow-up emails or create calendar invites based on what was discussed.
Privacy — Amazon’s claims
Amazon says both devices are built on Bee Private Compute, a security architecture that processes conversations in a secure, isolated environment where “no one, including Amazon, can access your data.” The company’s claims include:
- No audio is ever stored — audio is processed into insights in real time and deleted after processing
- Transcripts are encrypted with keys that only the user’s device creates and controls
- A single press turns the devices on or off, with an LED when active
- If Bee is connected to Alexa, Echo uses voice ID so Bee insights go to the right person
- Users can delete transcripts and summaries at any time
For Eclipse, Amazon also says users are prompted to gain permission from call participants each time a recording is started. These are Amazon’s privacy claims; TSN has not independently audited the architecture.
Why it matters
Ambient AI wearables sit in a crowded consumer lane alongside AI glasses and always-listening assistants. Amazon is tying Bee into Alexa+ and its own storefront — a distribution advantage most startups lack — while trying to reassure buyers with Private Compute language.
TSN has covered Amazon’s Alexa tablets that put Alexa+ at the centre, and Meta’s Sensing Art AI-glasses accessibility pilot — different form factors in the same push to put AI in daily hardware.
What we left out
Some secondary coverage has mentioned a Bee subscription. That detail is not in Amazon’s product post checked for this draft, so it is omitted here.
Caveats
Eclipse is not on sale yet. Battery-life and privacy statements are company claims. Amazon.com product surfacing means conversation context can feed shopping recommendations — a feature and a trust trade-off at once.
