Huntington Bank Launches The 1866 Studio, Built With Google Gemini

In brief

  • Huntington Bank and Google Cloud (19 October 2026, Columbus) say Huntington has introduced The 1866 Studio, an AI-powered small-business “operating system” built with the Gemini platform.
  • For aspiring and existing owners, the product is meant to deliver agentic AI workflows across financial, operational and management tasks — from launch plans to marketing collateral and loan readiness.
  • What’s still unknown: pricing, launch markets beyond early access, and user numbers — none are in the release.

Named for Huntington’s founding year 1866, the Studio is open for early-access sign-ups from 19 October, and not limited to existing Huntington customers.

What does The 1866 Studio do?

The joint release describes a connected experience that combines business guidance, financial intelligence, digital tools and human expertise. Agentic workflows are meant to keep business context across tasks so owners can “move from information to intelligence to action.”

Who said what?

President Brant Standridge framed the Studio as the next evolution of Huntington’s small-business mission. Head of innovation and AI products Vijay Konduru said owners “shouldn’t have to become experts in every function or in AI,” and that the product is meant to grow across the business lifecycle through succession or exit. Google Cloud’s Rohit Bhat said Gemini platform and frontier models help owners “move from information to action.”

How does Google Cloud fit?

Huntington says the Studio builds on a multi-year strategic partnership with Google Cloud to modernise technology and advance governed AI. The release highlights Gemini platform tools to “build, scale, govern and optimize agents,” plus multimodal Gemini models for marketing content.

Who is affected?

  • US small-business owners and founders who sign up for early access
  • Huntington relationship managers whose advice may sit beside agentic workflows
  • Rival regional banks watching Gemini-powered SMB operating systems

Our read

Banks are racing to own the SMB “jobs to be done” layer with agentic wrappers around Gemini — launch checklists, marketing and loan readiness first. Without pricing or usage metrics, The 1866 Studio is still a product launch signal, not a proven OS. The compliance angle is familiar: who owns the advice trail when an agent drafts a loan-readiness plan, and how Huntington governs model outputs for regulated credit conversations.

What’s still unknown?

  • Pricing and which features are free versus paid
  • Geographic rollout and eligibility rules
  • How many early-access users join, and conversion to banking products
