Editorial standards

TSN publishes clear, sourced coverage of AI, Big Tech, crypto and cybersecurity. These standards describe how we research, write and correct that coverage.

Sourcing

We prefer primary sources: company filings and announcements, regulator and court documents, official statements, and original data. Secondary reporting is used for context and is attributed. Claims that matter to readers are checked against more than one source when that is practical.

Verification

Facts, figures and quotes are checked before publication. Where a story rests on a single source, we say so. Speculation and rumour are labelled as such, or left out.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we correct it. Significant corrections are noted on the story. See our Corrections policy for how to tell us about an error and what we do next.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made by TSN. Sponsored or paid content, when it appears, is labelled. Affiliate relationships are disclosed on the relevant pages.

AI assistance

TSN uses AI tools in research and drafting. Every story is reviewed by a human editor before it is published. AI does not replace editorial judgement, sourcing or fact-checking.
