Dialpad and Ada Combining Ahead of Mid-November Close

Dialpad and Ada said on 4 November 2026 that they are joining forces to build what they call an “agentic operating system for customer work,” with the transaction expected to close on or about 12 November 2026, according to Dialpad’s press release and Ada’s matching announcement. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Craig Walker, Dialpad’s co-founder and CEO, will lead the combined company as CEO. Mike Murchison, Ada’s CEO, will become chief AI officer, with Mike Gozzo as senior vice president of AI product and engineering reporting to him. Both releases say current customers keep their contracts, pricing, account teams, support channels and existing integrations through the combination.

In brief

  • Combining announced 4 Nov; close expected on or about 12 Nov 2026; terms undisclosed.
  • Walker CEO; Murchison chief AI officer; Gozzo SVP AI product and engineering under Murchison.
  • Dialpad: more than 14 billion conversation minutes analysed since 2018; Ada: more than 500 agents in more than 130 languages; combined more than 50,000 companies (company claims).

Voice stack meets production agents

Dialpad’s pitch starts with conversation: a global voice network plus proprietary speech and language models. Since introducing real-time AI in 2018, Dialpad says it has analysed more than 14 billion minutes of business conversations. Ada says it has deployed more than 500 AI agents in production across voice, messaging, email and social in more than 130 languages. Together they claim to serve more than 50,000 companies.

Walker framed the deal as moving past AI that only answers questions toward agents that resolve complex problems the way a strong human colleague would — bringing in help without forcing the customer to restart. Murchison said the ambition is people and AI working together to do more than the customer thought to ask. Investor comments from Bessemer and Andreessen Horowitz appear in the releases as backer colour, not independent diligence.

The product thesis is one platform that owns the live conversation, the customer-intelligence layer and the agents that act in connected business systems after the call or chat ends. Dialpad stresses control of the voice network and models as a cost and performance lever; Ada stresses end-to-end resolution across channels. Neither release publishes a shared SKU list or a UK go-live calendar beyond “roadmap detail in the coming months.”

Contact-centre agent deals keep clustering

The commercial pattern matches other call-centre agent deals TSN has covered. Salesforce’s agreement to buy Cresta put a voice-agent specialist inside a CRM giant. Salesforce’s Agent Fabric evals and spend caps show how buyers are already asking for governance once agents sit in production. Adjacent tooling M&A such as OpenAI’s planned Pierre acquisition shows the same consolidation pressure on the developer side of agents. Dialpad Ada is the CX version: own the network and models, then automate multi-step customer work.

For UK buyers already on Dialpad or Ada, the near-term line in the releases is continuity of contracts and support through close. That is a customer-retention promise, not a UK Competition and Markets Authority filing or an Ofcom notice. Procurement teams should still ask for written continuity of data residency, subprocessors and support SLAs once the stacks merge, because press language does not replace contract schedules.

Announced is not closed, and the price stays secret

Until on or about 12 November, this remains a signed combination with an expected close date, not a completed merger. Treat the more-than-14-billion minutes, more-than-500 agents and more-than-50,000 companies figures as company claims. Watch next for a close notice, any UK or EU merger-control step if thresholds bite, and the first shared product roadmap naming which Ada agent flows run on Dialpad’s voice fabric. Until then, Dialpad Ada is a mid-November combination of a voice CX platform and an agentic CX specialist — terms undisclosed, leadership named, customers told nothing changes yet on paper.

Integration risk sits in the systems layer

Owning voice plus agents only pays off if Ada’s resolution flows can call Dialpad’s conversation context without forcing customers to rebuild CRM mappings. The releases omit an integration matrix, a deprecation calendar for overlapping features, and a data-residency map for the combined stack. Buyers should ask for that matrix before renewing multi-year seats, especially where Ada agents already write into ticketing systems outside Dialpad’s current control.
