At SAP Connect 2026, SAP “made Commerce Cloud ERP edition generally available” and announced a Quoting Assistant and an Incentive Compensation Assistant, according to SAPinsider’s 9 October 2026 report on the keynote [1]. The caveat comes first: “SAP did not share availability dates for the new assistants and agents during the session” [1].
Reported by SAPinsider [1]; SAP’s own announcements are company-reported [2][3].
What was announced
Reported (SAPinsider). Commerce Cloud ERP edition is “designed for midsize and growing companies that run on public cloud ERP and sell to other businesses”, as an integrated suite with order management and customer identity and consent tools built in [1]. SAP Engagement Cloud now supports account-based marketing, and SAP’s Order Management service now supports B2B [1].
Company-reported (SAP). SAP’s own blog confirms the edition is generally available and says it lets midsize companies extend SAP Cloud ERP with commerce that uses ERP data for pricing, availability, orders and invoices [3]. SAP’s written news guide says general availability of the Quoting and Incentive Compensation assistants is “planned for Q1 2027” [2]. That is a plan, not a release. The guide also lists the new B2B Order Management capabilities for Q1 2027, which differs from SAPinsider’s “now supports” wording.
The terms, in plain words
B2B quoting is how one business tells another what a deal will cost. For complex products the quote depends on configuration, pricing rules and current prices. SAPinsider says the Quoting Assistant turns a customer request into a quote using those rules and live ERP prices [1].
Lead-to-cash is the whole path from first contact with a prospect to money received: marketing, quote, order, delivery, invoice, payment.
An ERP edition of commerce software is an online-shop and ordering product wired directly into the company’s ERP, its core system for orders, stock and finances, so prices and availability come from there [3].
The Incentive Compensation Assistant explains commission calculations to sellers in plain language [1].
Ericsson’s quoting agent
Reported (SAPinsider, SAP session). Ericsson was the featured customer. It standardised its commerce, pricing, quoting, ordering and fulfilment processes on SAP, then built an agent that drafts quotes. A sales rep emails a request; the agent returns a draft for review, flagging uncertain product matches and price changes that need approval [1].
That review is the human-approval step: the software prepares the work, and a person decides on pricing changes before anything goes to the customer. SAPinsider gives no results figures, and Ericsson said it is still early in the work [1].
The Bottom Line
The Commerce Cloud ERP edition launch is confirmed by SAP. The two assistants are announced, not available, and SAP’s own written plan points to Q1 2027. The Ericsson account is SAPinsider’s relay of a conference session.
