BenchLife, a Taiwanese hardware news site, reported on 10 October 2026 that AMD raised the price of the GDDR6 memory sold with its graphics chips to card makers from 1 October, and that Intel has also adjusted its prices. Neither company has confirmed it. Nvidia is reported not to have told its partners of any change.
GDDR6 is memory used on many graphics cards. “Board partners”, also called AIBs or AICs, are the companies that build and sell finished cards using chips from AMD, Intel and Nvidia.
What was reported
Reported (BenchLife, citing China’s Board Channels), not confirmed by AMD, Intel or Nvidia. The text is in Traditional Chinese; the translations here are TSN’s. BenchLife writes that, in the fourth quarter of 2026, news from China’s Board Channels “has confirmed” that AMD has adjusted the price of GDDR6 memory paired with its GPUs from 1 October [1]. The word “confirmed” is BenchLife’s description of its source. BenchLife adds that “AMD and Intel have both adjusted” the GDDR6 shipment prices to board partners [1]. Wccftech repeats the AMD report [2]; it does not mention Intel.
BenchLife says capacitors, resistors, power-control chips and circuit boards are also reported to be rising in price, with longer lead times [1]. Neither source gives a price figure.
What about Nvidia?
BenchLife says Nvidia “has still not notified” its partners whether it will raise shipment prices in the fourth quarter [1]. It then speculates that Nvidia may not raise memory prices but may instead control how many GPU kits, meaning chip plus memory, each partner receives. That is BenchLife’s speculation, not a report.
What this does not show
- Confirmation. AMD, Intel and Nvidia have not commented.
- The original report. TSN could not find the Board Channels source.
- Nvidia holding prices. BenchLife says only that no notice has been given.
- Retail prices. Nothing here says what shoppers will pay. For wider context, see TSN on AI-driven prices reaching PCs.
The Bottom Line
BenchLife, citing a Chinese channel source, says AMD raised GDDR6 prices for card makers from 1 October and Intel adjusted too. Unconfirmed.
