Nous Research posted on X on 10 October 2026 about a model called MISSINGNO: “A coding and agentic reasoning model that is highly token efficient, free for a limited time on Nous Portal” [1]. The post adds: “Try it out in your Hermes Agent today” [1].

Confirmed: Nous posted this. “Highly token efficient” is Nous’s own claim, with no test or figure given. Nothing else about the model is stated.
What the terms mean
- Coding and agentic reasoning model. An AI model built to write and fix code and to work through multi-step jobs, choosing the next step and using tools instead of answering one question.
- Token efficient. Models read and write text in small chunks called tokens, and providers usually bill per token. It presumably means fewer tokens per task. Nous gives no number or comparison.
- Portal and agent harness. Nous Portal is Nous’s account service for models and tools; its docs call it a “subscription gateway” [3]. An agent harness is the software around a model that gives it tools and a loop to work in. Nous describes Hermes Agent as an open-source agent harness [4].
What Nous’s own pages show
Nous’s website carries the same post, dated 10 October [4]. Nous Portal’s model catalogue, as TSN read it on 11 October, lists “MissingNo” under the identifier “stealth/missingno” at $0.00 per million tokens [2]. That fits “free”. The two Hermes Agent docs pages TSN checked do not mention it [3].
What is not known
- Who built it. The post does not say Nous trained it. The catalogue names no developer for it, though it does for other models [2].
- The basics. No parameter count, context length or benchmark results.
- Open weights. TSN found no model page on Nous’s Hugging Face profile, blog or Hermes Agent GitHub page. Whether the weights are open is unknown.
- The free period. No end date, and no price afterwards.
- The video. The post has a video; TSN did not watch it.
