Chinese robot maker JAKA says it is giving two new machines their global debut at the 26th China International Industry Fair (CIIF) in Shanghai, which runs from 12 to 16 October 2026. They are the JAKA Kargo50, a heavy-duty wheeled humanoid, and the JAKA Zu50, a high-payload cobot. JAKA told a Shanghai Securities News reporter about the launch on 11 October [1].
REPORTED (Shanghai Securities News, told by JAKA; no JAKA English release).
What a cobot and a wheeled humanoid are
A cobot, short for collaborative robot, is a robot arm built to work near people without being fenced off. Cobots usually move more slowly and stop when they sense contact, so they can share a workspace with factory staff.
A wheeled humanoid has a human-like upper body, with a torso and two arms, but it rolls on a wheeled base instead of walking on legs. JAKA argues that wheels are cheaper and more stable than legs on a flat factory floor, while the arms let the robot handle parts and boxes the way a worker would.
The two launches
JAKA’s theme for the fair is “通用即未来”, which translates as “General-purpose is the future” [1].
JAKA says the Kargo50 belongs to its existing Kargo wheeled-humanoid series and is aimed at heavy tote handling and flexible transfer, meaning moving bins and parts between stations in a factory [1].
The Zu50 extends JAKA’s cobot range to heavier loads, according to the company [1]. RobotToday, republishing Pandaily, describes it as “a 50 kg collaborative arm” [2]. The Chinese report does not give a payload figure.
What JAKA says about the Kargo10
JAKA says the smaller Kargo10 has reached “large-scale commercial deployment” in auto-parts and high-end electronics factories. It says on-site tuning cut the time to handle each tote from 105 seconds to 28 seconds, and brought the time to set up in a new kind of workplace down to 57 days [1]. TSN has not verified these figures.
The report also cites unnamed “industry data” saying JAKA held 21.9% of China’s cobot market in 2024, ranking first in China [1][3]. TSN has not verified this figure.
JAKA vice-president Chang Li (常莉) said “General-purpose is the future” is the core development trend of the global robot industry, and that JAKA will keep working on embodied intelligence and general-purpose robot products [1].
What is not known
JAKA has not published the Kargo50’s payload, price, availability date or customers. It has not issued an English press release, and the Kargo50 did not appear on jaka.com when TSN checked. The Kargo10’s specifications should not be read as the Kargo50’s.
