CONFIRMED (Salesforce release): The deal has been signed but has not closed. No price was disclosed.
Salesforce has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Loops, which it describes as “an AI-powered analytics platform that continuously monitors business performance, explains why key metrics change, and surfaces opportunities to improve by leveraging machine learning models” [1]. Salesforce announced the deal on 12 October 2026 [1].
Salesforce did not disclose the price or other financial terms [1].
What Loops does
According to Salesforce, Loops “can be triggered directly from Slack and email to continuously monitor key performance indicators, identify trends and anomalies, and proactively surface what’s driving change” [1]. Salesforce says the acquisition will advance its “agentic analytics strategy” [1]. In plain terms, “agentic” here means software that can watch data and act or flag issues on its own, rather than waiting for someone to build a report.
Tableau, owned by Salesforce, is a widely used tool for charting and exploring business data. After the deal closes, Salesforce “plans to bring Loops’s technology and specialized talent into Tableau” [1].
What the companies said
“Tableau’s mission has been helping people see, understand and act on data. Loops accelerates this mission, using powerful agentic AI to uncover the drivers behind business performance and surface where teams and agents can take action in real time,” said Mark Recher, EVP & GM, Tableau [1]. “Following close, we look forward to bringing these capabilities to Tableau and helping customers turn insights into action faster.” [1]
“We built Loops around a simple idea: analytics should help businesses understand what drives their results and decide what to do next,” said Tom Laufer, CEO and Co-Founder of Loops [1]. “Salesforce and Tableau share our vision for making actionable analytics accessible for every organization. Together, we’ll have the opportunity to bring what we’ve built to customers at an entirely new scale.” [1]
What happens next
The transaction “is expected to close in early November of Salesforce’s fiscal year 2027, subject to customary closing conditions” [1].
