Bloomberg reported on 15 October 2026 that Binance.US is looking to raise as much as $100 million as it seeks to expand its US crypto business. The company is targeting a valuation of about $1 billion in the private round, according to a person familiar with the matter who asked not to be identified.
This is reported fundraising, not a closed round. Bloomberg says the size and valuation of the fundraising, along with the makeup of its investors, could change as the process continues. Spokespeople for Binance.US and World Liberty declined to comment.
What Bloomberg’s sources said
- Target raise: as much as $100 million
- Target valuation: about $1 billion (person familiar)
- World Liberty Financial was among those made aware of the fundraising (people familiar); another person said the Trump family’s crypto venture isn’t participating
- Prior raise: Binance.US raised more than $200 million in 2022 at a $4.5 billion pre-money valuation
Keep World Liberty as “made aware / not participating” per Bloomberg’s separate sources — do not describe them as investors in this round.
Business context Bloomberg provides
Binance.US launched in 2019 and operates separately from the global Binance exchange, though Bloomberg notes Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao is a large shareholder of both. Bloomberg says the US exchange lost much of its market share after Binance Holdings’ 2023 settlement with US authorities and is seeking to regain ground. It has also explored prediction markets, Bloomberg previously reported.
Other reported strands (each attributed to a person familiar): discussions about tapping external trading liquidity, potentially including Binance’s international exchange — with no approach decided; and efforts to restore some state money-transmitting licences as part of US expansion. Binance.US named Stephen Gregory chief executive earlier this year, Bloomberg notes.
Why the wording matters
“As much as” and “about” are Bloomberg’s hedges. Until Binance.US announces a closed round with named investors and a locked valuation, the accurate status is seeking, not raised. That also means comparisons with the 2022 $4.5bn pre-money mark are historical colour, not proof of today’s clearing price.

Competitive and regulatory backdrop
Bloomberg frames the raise against a more favourable US regulatory environment for digital assets, with established exchanges adding products and offshore rivals seeking a larger US presence. Separately, Bloomberg notes World Liberty already has ties to the global Binance exchange — including that global Binance holds a large share of World Liberty’s USD1 stablecoin, per crypto tracker Arkham as cited by Bloomberg — which is context for why World Liberty was “made aware,” not evidence it is funding Binance.US.
Trump last year pardoned Binance co-founder Zhao after a 2023 guilty plea tied to anti-money-laundering controls at the global exchange, Bloomberg recounts. That history is background to Zhao’s shareholder role; it does not, by itself, close or price the Binance.US round.
What’s still unknown
- Final raise size, valuation and investor list
- Whether any World Liberty-linked capital appears despite the “isn’t participating” source
- Timing of a close, if any
What to watch
- An official Binance.US raise announcement
- Licence restorations or product expansions tied to the capital plan
- Any clarification from World Liberty beyond “declined to comment”
What this means
- Reported: Binance.US seeking as much as $100m at about $1bn (Bloomberg).
- Round not closed; terms could change; spokespeople declined to comment.
- World Liberty: made aware / isn’t participating (separate Bloomberg sources).
