Intuit Signs Deal to Acquire AI Revenue-Management Startup Sequence

Intuit announced on 15 October 2026 that it has signed an agreement to acquire Sequence, a Series A revenue-management company that automates the end-to-end quote-to-revenue process. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

This is a signed agreement, not a closed acquisition. Intuit says it will continue to support Sequence’s customers and make capabilities available after the acquisition closes, and will develop an integrated offering in the coming months. No closing date was given.

What Sequence does, per Intuit

Sequence replaces spreadsheets and manual billing workflows with an AI-native revenue platform. With Sequence, Intuit says mid-market businesses and their accounting firms would get a single platform to price, bill and collect on revenue tied to consumption, usage, seats and milestones — aimed at industries such as B2B software and professional services as an alternative to legacy ERPs that still need manual revenue work.

Ashley Still, Intuit EVP and GM of the Small Business & Mid-Market Group, said Sequence will extend Intuit Enterprise Suite “directly into industries that increasingly leverage AI consumption models like B2B software and professional services,” and strengthen mid-market offerings including QuickBooks Online Advanced.

Riya Grover, Sequence co-founder and CEO, said revenue management has been the most fragmented back-office workflow and that Sequence automates from contract to revenue recognition with AI agents working alongside finance teams. Grover will join Intuit’s Mid-Market product organisation. Sequence was founded in 2021 and is based in London and New York.

Reported price — The Times via Tech.eu

Tech.eu reported on 16 October 2026, citing The Times, that the sale is estimated to be worth around $200 million. Credit that figure to The Times via Tech.eu — it is not in Intuit’s release.

Tech.eu also says Sequence has raised around $40 million, with backers including Andreessen Horowitz, Passion Capital, firstminute capital and 645 Ventures, and that co-founder Eamon Jubbawy (Onfido) is the other founder. Those fundraising and ownership details are secondary reporting; Intuit’s primary release does not confirm the price or the $40m total.

Why it matters

Usage-based and hybrid AI pricing breaks classic seat-billing ERPs. Buying Sequence is Intuit’s bid to own quote-to-cash for mid-market software and services customers who already live in QuickBooks / Enterprise Suite — rather than losing them to heavier ERP stacks when billing gets complicated.

For a parallel big-software AI acquisition (different company, do not fold), see Salesforce’s deal to acquire Loops.

What’s still unknown

  • Final purchase price and whether ~$200m is accurate
  • Closing date and regulatory clearances, if any
  • How Sequence’s product will be packaged inside Enterprise Suite vs standalone for existing Sequence customers

What to watch

  • Intuit’s close announcement
  • Product integration timeline for Enterprise Suite / QuickBooks Online Advanced
  • Any confirmed consideration figure in a filing

What this means

  • Intuit signed to acquire Sequence (London/New York); terms undisclosed; not closed.
  • Focus: AI-native quote-to-revenue for consumption/usage/seats/milestones.
  • ~$200m estimated value per The Times via Tech.eu.
