Five9 on 5 November 2026 said it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Level AI for approximately $325 million in cash from its balance sheet, according to a Five9 investor news release and a matching Level AI blog post. Both companies say the deal is expected to close in 2026, subject to closing conditions. Level AI says the two firms remain separate companies for now, with no immediate changes to contracts, invoices or support contacts.
Five9, which sells the Genius CX contact-centre platform, says Level AI’s applications will be offered two ways: as standalone tools for enterprises that keep on-premises contact centres or stay on other cloud platforms, and as part of the AI application layer inside Genius CX.
What Five9 and Level AI say the deal covers
Five9 chief executive Amit Mathradas said Level AI will expand Five9’s AI capabilities and give enterprises that are “not ready to move their contact center to the cloud” a route to adopt AI on top of systems they already use. Level AI founder and chief executive Ashish Nagar said joining Five9 brings Level AI’s CX-native models and applications to more contact centres while continuing to support existing Level AI customers.
Level AI says its platform handles more than one billion customer interactions a year and names customers including Gusto, Chime, Empyrean and VistaPrint. Five9 says it serves more than 4,000 customers and that Level AI has been a partner since 2022, with Level AI applications already available through the Five9 CX Marketplace. Level AI’s own post adds that Five9 powers contact centres across 140-plus countries. Those customer and volume figures are the companies’ claims.
Neither announcement describes job cuts, headcount targets or a post-close reorganisation of support teams. Level AI’s customer note focuses on continuity before closing and advance notice of any later change. Five9’s board unanimously approved the agreement, the IR release says, with Centerview as financial advisor and Sidley Austin as legal advisor.
How this sits beside other CX AI deals
TSN has covered other customer-experience AI deals including Dialpad’s Ada move and Salesforce’s Cresta acquisition, plus Anthropic’s Claude Enterprise unified Cowork work on the agent side of enterprise tooling. Five9’s Level AI agreement is another contact-centre AI buy, with an explicit dual path: keep Level AI usable outside Five9’s CCaaS stack, and fold it into Genius CX for Five9 customers.
That dual path is the commercial detail that separates this announcement from a pure tuck-in. Buyers already on other platforms are told they can still take Level AI standalone; Five9 customers get marketplace continuity that dates to the 2022 partnership.
What a $325m cash CX AI buy changes before close
On the published terms, the near-term change for customers is limited: separate legal entities, unchanged contracts and support until closing, and a cash price of about $325 million that Five9 says comes from its balance sheet rather than a stock swap. The strategic pitch is distribution — Level AI’s conversation AI across Five9’s installed base — plus a bridge for enterprises that want AI agents and assist without migrating their contact centre first.
Level AI’s Latitude models are presented as CX-specialised alternatives to frontier models, with the company claiming lower cost and latency plus direct data-privacy control. Five9’s release does not restate those Latitude performance ratios; it emphasises product placement (standalone and Genius CX) and the existing marketplace relationship. Buyers comparing this deal with other CX AI acquisitions should therefore separate the price and closing timeline, which both companies publish, from any model-benchmark claims that appear only on one side of the announcement pair.
Which closing conditions still have to clear, how standalone Level AI pricing and support will look after a 2026 close, and how deeply Latitude will be productised inside Genius CX versus kept as a separate SKU are not answered in the 5 November texts. The companies have not published a day-one integration roadmap beyond the standalone-plus-Genius CX framing.
