Vocus’s last published repair plan, dated 25 September 2026, has the Australia Singapore Cable (ASC) fully repaired on 4 November. A customer ISP now reports that the other Perth-to-Singapore cable, Indigo West, has slipped, and expects ASC to follow. Vocus has not said so.
Vocus’s last published plan
Confirmed (Vocus, 25 September 2026). Testing “continues to indicate a cable break within Indonesian waters, approximately 615 km from the Singapore landing station.” The plan: “The repair vessel will depart Singapore on 11 October, and the Indigo West repair is expected to be completed around 24 October.” ASC repair work is then “planned to start around 25 October”, and “completion of the ASC repair remains targeted for 4 November” [1]. Indigo West goes first, Vocus says, because repairing ASC means powering down the affected section, so a second path back is wanted before that happens [1].
Vocus names “completion of the required Indonesian operational permits and clearances” as a key dependency, and says “these dates may change if operational conditions require” [1]. On 10 October its page showed nothing newer than 25 September.
Neptune Internet’s report
Reported (Neptune Internet, 8 October 2026). Neptune is an Australian ISP, a customer rather than the operator. It says “Both subsea cables between Perth and Singapore are down until at least early November” and gives the Indigo West repair window as “25 October – 3 November”. It adds: “The Indigo West window has already slipped once, from around 24 October, so we expect the ASC date to move as well.” [2]
The Indigo West window matches a 7 October notice on Aus Internet’s status page [3]. That notice covers Indigo West only.
What is Vocus’s and what is not
The 4 November date for ASC is Vocus’s. That ASC “will move” is Neptune’s expectation, and unconfirmed by Vocus. PNG DataCo’s 6 October notice still quotes 24 October and 4 November, but it repeats the Vocus programme and predates Neptune [4].
What this does not show
- A new ASC date. Vocus has published none.
- That the vessel has sailed. The planned departure is 11 October.
- Permit status. Vocus says the approvals are “progressing”, with no completion date.
- A cause. Vocus’s page gives none, and TSN offers none.
The Bottom Line
Vocus’s plan, as last published, is Indigo West around 24 October and ASC on 4 November, subject to Indonesian permits. A customer ISP reports a later Indigo West window and expects ASC to slip. Until Vocus updates its page, treat 4 November as a target.
