Cloudflare’s changelog for 10 October 2026 says: “The Cloudflare API MCP server now serves Cloudflare skills through the Skills over MCP extension.” [1] This is confirmed, from Cloudflare’s own page. The page is short, and so is this post.
What the changelog says
“MCP clients that support the extension discover the skills with skills/list and read their files at skill://<name>/<path>.” [1] To use them, the changelog says: “add https://mcp.cloudflare.com/mcp to an MCP client that supports the extension.” [1]
In plain terms
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard for connecting AI assistants to tools and services (see our MCP explainer). A client is the app that connects to an MCP server. The changelog does not define MCP or “skills”, so here is how the pages it links describe them. Cloudflare’s skills repository calls them “Skills for teaching agents how to build on Cloudflare” [2]. The extension’s overview says “A skill is a directory containing a SKILL.md file and optional supporting files” and that the extension “allows MCP servers to expose workflow instructions and supporting files to clients” [3]. - Pricing. Not stated.
- Which clients work. The changelog says only clients that support the extension can use the skills. The overview says “SDK and host support is still being implemented” [3].
