Meta announced this on its blog on 13 October 2026. The weight and battery figures are Meta’s own claims.
Meta’s first audio glasses, Ray-Ban Meta Audio, went on sale on 13 October 2026, starting at $349 in the US [1].
Meta first showed them at its Meta Connect 2026 event in September [1][2]. Meta says they give you “the power of earbuds and AI” in a pair of glasses: you can listen to music, take calls and talk to its assistant, Meta AI, through open-ear speakers that do not block out the world around you [1].
What Meta says you get
- Weight: 43 grams. Meta calls them its “lightest and slimmest AI glasses ever” [1].
- Battery: “up to 12 hours on a single charge or up to 6 hours of continuous audio playback” [1].
- Charging case: “up to 48 more hours”, with fast charging to 50% “in just 22 minutes” [1].
- Styles: two Ray-Ban frames, Clubmaster and Burbank, in 23 frame and lens combinations, all available with prescription lenses [1].
Where to buy
Meta says they are sold at Meta.com, Ray-Ban.com, Ray-Ban stores, Meta Lab stores, EssilorLuxottica’s own shops and some other retailers [1]. EssilorLuxottica owns Ray-Ban and is Meta’s glasses partner.
The bigger plan
Meta says that by the end of this year it will offer “more than 100 different options” of AI glasses through its partnership with EssilorLuxottica [1].
What this means
- A cheaper way in. At $349, these start $100 below Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3), which Meta prices from $449 [2].
- Audio first. Meta says audio has always been the most popular feature on its glasses, and these are built around it [1].
- Check the battery claims. The figures are Meta’s. “Up to 12 hours” is not the same as 12 hours of music: Meta says continuous playback is up to 6 hours.
