Apple Launches HomeView, HomePod mini 2, a New Apple TV 4K and Apple Home Collection

CONFIRMED (Apple Newsroom, 13 Oct 2026): Apple announced all four products in press releases on 13 October 2026. Performance and privacy figures below are Apple’s own claims.

Apple has announced four home products at once: a new smart home screen called HomeView, a second-generation HomePod mini, a new Apple TV 4K and Apple Home Collection, a range of cameras, thermostats and a door lock made with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric [1][2][3][4].

All of them lean on Siri AI, which Apple describes as “an entirely new version of Siri” powered by the next generation of Apple Intelligence [1].

HomeView: a $299 home screen

HomeView is a 7-inch screen on a speaker base that can sit on a counter or table. A separate model mounts on the wall [1].

  • Price and dates: $299 (U.S.) for both the tabletop and the wall-mounted model. Pre-orders opened on 13 October in Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, the UK and the U.S., with availability from Friday 13 November [1]. Singapore pre-orders start on 15 October; in South Africa it will be sold through Apple Authorized Resellers [1].
  • Who it knows: Apple says HomeView recognises up to six people by their faces and shows each one their own Home Screen. Personal content from apps such as Messages and Calendar only appears when that person is recognised and their paired iPhone or iPad is nearby and recently unlocked [1].
  • Chip and privacy: It uses Apple’s A18 chip with “Secure Exclaves”, which Apple says process camera and microphone data separately from the rest of the system, so that data “cannot be accessed by the HomeView software, apps, the user, or Apple” [1].
  • What it does: music, podcasts and video apps, FaceTime calls, Intercom messages, recipes and timers, Find My, and smart home control, including up to nine camera feeds at once [1].
  • Wall mounts: Three mounts from Schneider Home: $59.95 and $79.95 (U.S.) available to order now, and a $129.95 (U.S.) Power over Ethernet mount from early 2027 [1].

Not for sale in the EU

Apple says: “Apple HomeView is not available for sale in the European Union, as Siri AI is currently unavailable in iOS in the EU.” It adds that it “is working constructively with the EU in an attempt to find a path forward” [1].

HomePod mini 2: $149, with Siri AI later

  • Price and dates: $149 (U.S.), in pink, green, blue, white and midnight. Pre-orders opened on 13 October in the U.S. and more than 23 other countries and regions, with availability from Friday 30 October [2].
  • Siri AI comes later. Apple says Siri AI is “coming to HomePod mini 2 in a future software update”, in English, in the U.S., Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and the UK [2].
  • Sound: It uses Apple’s S10 chip. Paired with the new Apple TV 4K, four HomePod mini 2 speakers can make a four-speaker surround setup, which Apple calls its “most immersive home theater setup yet” [2].
  • New features: “Sound Glow” makes the top light up in time with music; it can recognise up to six users by voice, and it can be used as a speaker for a Mac [2].

Apple TV 4K (4th generation): $299

  • Price and dates: $299 (U.S.), or $49.83 (U.S.) a month for six months. Pre-orders opened on 13 October in the U.S. and 29 other countries and regions, with availability from Friday 13 November [3].
  • Speed (Apple’s claim): Apple says its A19 chip delivers “up to 50 percent faster CPU performance and up to 2x faster GPU performance than the previous generation.” It also adds a dedicated AV1 video decoder [3].
  • Hands-free Siri: Three far-field microphones let people talk to Siri without the remote [3]. Siri AI is available as a beta, and Apple says that beta also runs on older Apple TV 4K models from the 2nd generation onwards [3].
  • Remote: The Siri Remote gains Find My support, including Precision Finding and the option to play a sound [3].

Apple Home Collection: cameras, thermostats and a lock

Apple Home Collection is a set of accessories designed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. They are set up with one tap on an iPhone and run through the Apple Home app, with no separate app or account. Apple says footage and home data are end-to-end encrypted and not accessible to LG, Schneider Electric or Apple [4].

Availability starts in December, with “select accessories” arriving in early 2027. Apple does not say which [4]. U.S. starting prices [4]:

ProductU.S. priceWhere
LG Video Doorbell Wired$249.95U.S., Canada, UK
LG Floodlight Cam$399.95U.S., Canada, UK
LG Outdoor Cam Plug-In$299.95U.S., Canada, UK
LG Indoor Cam Plug-In$199.95U.S., Canada, UK

LG Temperature Sensor$39.95U.S., Canada
Schneider Home Smart Thermostat$199.95U.S., Canada
Schneider Home Room Sensor$39.95U.S., Canada

The lock uses Ultra Wideband to unlock as an owner with a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch walks up, and Apple says it works locally without an internet connection [4]. In the U.S., Apple Retail will offer paid installation by ADT [4].

What this means

  • Apple now has a home screen. HomeView is Apple’s answer to smart displays, at $299 and from 13 November.
  • UK buyers can order HomeView, but Apple gave U.S. prices only. It has not stated UK prices in these announcements.
  • EU buyers cannot get HomeView. Apple ties this to Siri AI not being available in iOS in the EU.
  • HomePod mini 2 ships first, on 30 October, but without Siri AI at launch. That arrives in a later update.
  • The cameras, lock and thermostats come later, from December, and some only in 2027; the lock and thermostats are listed for the U.S. and Canada only.
