Jio Platforms Sets IPO Price Band of ₹1,065 to ₹1,119; Offer Opens 21 October

Jio Platforms Limited, the digital arm of Reliance Industries, has set the price band for its initial public offering at ₹1,065 to ₹1,119 a share. Reliance told the BSE and NSE in filings dated 14 October 2026. The offer opens for subscription on Wednesday, 21 October, and closes on Friday, 23 October, with anchor bidding on Monday, 19 October.

What the BSE filings say

A Reliance filing on the price band says Jio’s IPO committee approved:

  • a floor price of ₹1,065 and a cap price of ₹1,119 per equity share
  • an employee discount of ₹54 per share for eligible employees in the employee reservation portion
  • a minimum bid lot of 12 equity shares of face value ₹10, and multiples of 12 thereafter

A separate Reliance filing on the Red Herring Prospectus says the IPO is a fresh issue of up to 27,00,00,000 (270 million) equity shares of face value Rs 10 each. Jio filed the RHP with the Registrar of Companies, Gujarat at Ahmedabad, on 14 October 2026.

The same notice says the IPO reserves equity shares for a value not exceeding Rs 500 crore for eligible employees, and not exceeding Rs 2,500 crore for eligible public shareholders of Reliance Industries (individuals and HUFs) as of the RHP filing date.

TechCrunch’s dollar figures

TechCrunch reported that the offering seeks to raise as much as $3.2 billion, and that at the top of the band the IPO would value Jio at about ₹10.3 trillion, around $108.3 billion, based on shares expected to be outstanding after the offering. TechCrunch also said the deal would top Hyundai Motor India’s 2024 IPO as India’s biggest. Those dollar totals, the valuation and the “biggest IPO” comparison are TechCrunch’s figures.

What this means

  • The band and calendar are on the record at the exchanges. Price band, lot size, employee discount and the 19–23 October timetable come from Reliance’s BSE filings.
  • Dollar headlines are TechCrunch’s. The up-to-$3.2 billion raise, the roughly $108 billion valuation and the claim it would be India’s biggest IPO are credited to TechCrunch, not the exchange notices.
  • Retail and staff slices are capped in rupees. Up to Rs 2,500 crore for eligible Reliance shareholders and Rs 500 crore for employees, with a ₹54 staff discount.
