World (the identity project formerly known as Worldcoin) published two product announcements dated Sunday, 18 October 2026: a banking-and-finance suite for World ID, unveiled by co-founder Alex Blania at Money20/20 in Las Vegas, and general availability of World ID for Zoom for Zoom’s enterprise customers. Primary sources are World’s own posts (banking and finance; Zoom). TSN verified the English body via World’s locale mirrors when the bare English paths returned 404 from some fetchers.
Use 18 October 2026 as the announcement date. World’s announcements index has shown a 2 October stamp for the banking post; the post body itself and contemporaneous coverage use 18 October.
Banking and finance suite
“On stage at Money20/20 in Las Vegas, World co-founder Alex Blania unveiled World ID for banking and finance,” World writes. The suite of technologies “is now available to help enable AI-safe experiences for banking and financial institutions across internal and customer-facing systems, including interactions involving AI agents.”
World says design partners are utilising the technology: Bain Capital, OpenExchange, Outtake, Pantera Capital, and VanEck Funds.
The offering “includes: World ID app, World ID for Agents, and World ID for Zoom.”
What each piece is for (per World)
- World ID app — downloadable in the App Store and Google Play across 150+ countries, with three cryptographic Proofs: Proof of Human (one-time Orb visit; World says Orbs are also currently available at the NYSE), Proof of Presence (phone liveness check), and Proof of Attributes (from an official government credential, such as nationality or being over a certain age, revealing only the requested information).
- Named banking uses include human-binding approvals for ACH and wire transfers, and human-binding requirements for account recovery aimed at reducing account takeover.
- World ID for Agents / AgentKit — “a suite of developer tools, currently in beta, that allows autonomous agents to use World ID Proofs,” so a person can delegate certain Proofs to an agent that can then act on their behalf without revealing private information.
- World ID for Zoom — covered below; bundled into the banking suite as the high-stakes video layer.
World also states: “More than 18 million people hold a Proof of Human.”
World ID for Zoom — generally available
A separate World post says the product was previewed earlier this year and is “now available to Zoom’s enterprise customers globally through the Zoom Marketplace.”
World says the integration “runs on AWS.” For a Human Badge to appear, three images must match:
- the Orb image (cryptographically signed when the Proof of Human was claimed — World’s “ground truth”),
- an in-app selfie from the World ID app liveness check, and
- a frame of the Zoom video others see on the call.
World emphasises that the integration “analyzes video only, not audio or transcripts.” Hosts “can soon enable a World ID for Zoom Waiting Room” in which participants present Proof of Human before joining — that waiting-room option is not described as live yet. World also says Tools for Humanity has joined the Zoom ISV Exchange Program, and that Zoom customers can host Orbs in their offices.
Third-party figures World cites (credit the firms)
These forecasts and survey results are not World’s own measurements:
- Deloitte predicts that AI-enabled fraud losses in the U.S. “could reach $40 billion by 2027, up from an estimated $12.3 billion in 2023.”
- According to a 2025 Gartner survey of cybersecurity leaders, “62%” of respondents said their organisation had been subjected to a deepfake attack in the previous year.
- World also recounts the early-2024 Arup case in which an employee wired approximately $25.6 million after a video conference in which every other participant was a deepfake — again as World’s citation of a known incident, not a new TSN investigation.
What The Block adds
The Block (18 October 2026) reports that the release did not name a bank using the product and did not disclose pricing. It also notes World will present the technology at Zoom’s Zoomtopia conference and at Cloudflare Connect. Treat design partners as World’s named collaborators exploring or utilising the stack — not as announced production bank customers.
Caveats
- No bank customer named; no pricing disclosed (The Block).
- Design partners are World’s list of firms utilising / exploring the technology — not a published list of live bank rollouts.
- AgentKit is currently in beta.
- The Zoom waiting room requirement is coming “soon,” not stated as generally available today.
- English blog URLs may 404 from some networks; content was verified on World’s pt-br / es-la mirrors with English body text.
- Do not treat Deloitte or Gartner figures as World metrics.
What’s still unknown
- Which, if any, banks are in production with the suite
- Pricing and commercial terms
- When the Zoom waiting-room control ships
- How AgentKit’s beta maps to regulated banking workflows in practice
What this means
On 18 October 2026, World said Alex Blania unveiled World ID for banking and finance at Money20/20 in Las Vegas — a suite it says is now available, bundling the World ID app, World ID for Agents (AgentKit, currently in beta), and World ID for Zoom — and separately that Zoom enterprise customers can get the deepfake-oriented Human Badge globally via the Zoom Marketplace. Until a bank is named and pricing appears, read this as a product launch with design partners, not a disclosed customer win.
