Tesla Engineer Says Grok Bot Is Now Enabled on All Cybercabs and the Rest of the Model Y Fleet

Grok Bot now works in every Tesla Cybercab and across the rest of the Model Y fleet, according to Tesla engineer Yun-Ta Tsai. He posted on X on 11 October 2026: “Grok @bot is enabled on all Cybercabs and the rest of the Model Y fleet. Please let us know how it helps you and what to improve. Enjoy! 🙂” [1][2]

REPORTED (staff post on X; no Tesla release notes).

Who said it

TeslaNorth describes Tsai as “a senior staff engineer on Tesla’s AI team” [2]. His post quoted Tesla creator Dirty Tesla (@DirtyTesLa), who had shared a video of a Grok Bot being managed from a Cybercab screen and wrote: “And a day later you can easily manage your grok @bot from Tesla Cybercab Tesla engineers legit do not sleep” [3][2].

A fix promised two days earlier

On 9 October, Dirty Tesla complained that riders could not reach their Grok Bots from Grok inside a Cybercab. Tsai replied: “This will be fixed soon in the upcoming update. I have been testing it everyday.” [4] His 11 October post says the change is now live.

What Grok Bot is

TeslaNorth calls Grok Bot the agent side of Grok, the part that carries out tasks for you rather than only answering questions. It says recent features include searching, reading and monitoring X, and claiming its own email inbox [2][4]. Before this change, Cybercab riders had the regular Grok assistant but not the Bots they had set up [4].

Tesla investor Sawyer Merritt reported in a later post, which Tsai quoted, that riders sign in once, the bot is then available on future rides, and riders are “automatically logged out when you exit the vehicle to maintain privacy” [5]. Tesla has not confirmed this.

What is not confirmed

Tesla has not published release notes. Tsai did not name a software version, and he did not say whether the feature arrived by an over-the-air (OTA) software update or was switched on from Tesla’s servers. He also did not say whether Model 3, Model S, Model X or Cybertruck owners will get it [2].

TeslaNorth reads the phrase “the rest of the Model Y fleet” as a sign that some Model Ys already had the feature before this post [2]. Tsai did not say so directly.

Tsai asked users for feedback on how the feature helps and what should be improved [1].
