Binance said its bStocks tokenized equity product has surpassed US$1 billion in assets under management roughly four months after launching on 11 June 2026, citing on-chain data from Dune Research as of 15 October 2026. In a PR Newswire release the same day, Binance also called bStocks “the fastest tokenized equity product” to reach that milestone — a company claim, not an independently verified industry ranking.
What bStocks are — and are not
Binance describes bStocks as tokenized representations of US-listed stocks and ETFs, each fully backed 1:1 by the underlying security. They trade around the clock, settle on-chain, can move between exchange and wallets, and can be converted 1:1 into direct stock holdings inside a Binance account, the company says.
The release’s disclaimer is essential: bStocks are not stocks or shares and do not allow holders to directly own a share in the underlying listed company. They do not represent affiliation with the issuer. They are offered through an Approved Prospectus in the ADGM and are not offered in any other jurisdiction; no public offer is made outside ADGM. Tokenized securities are available only to eligible users in permitted jurisdictions on a secondary-market basis. Binance does not onboard or service U.S. persons.
Company figures since launch
Per Binance:
- More than US$1 billion AUM
- More than US$40 billion cumulative trading volume since 11 June, averaging over US$300 million per day
- Nearly 100 bStocks listed, up from five at launch
- US$6 billion converted between direct stock positions and bStocks at 1:1 parity
On usage, Binance said DeFi TVL deployment of bStocks rose to 11.2% in early October, and outstanding borrowing against deposited bStocks collateral increased to 46.2% by 10 September from 5.5% at end-June. Last month the company extended bStocks collateral support so eligible users can use supported tokens as margin and futures collateral, including borrowing with up to 5x leverage.
Shunyet Jan, head of exchange and trading, said: “Today, more than a billion dollars of that is held on Binance, and it’s being used, not just held.”
Market context — Binance’s numbers
Binance said the tokenized equities market cap more than quadrupled to over US$3 billion by late September, and that on-chain transfers of tokenized stocks exceeded US$100 billion in Q3 2026. Credit those market-context figures to Binance.
How volume sits outside US hours
Binance said only 38% of bStocks volume in July occurred during regular US market hours, versus 89.2% for conventional US equities — a company statistic offered as evidence that 24/7 trading is real usage, not a launch-day spike. It also said 58.5% of early bStocks users (end-July data) also traded perpetual futures and/or direct equities on Binance, framing adoption as additive rather than a pure substitute for stock trading on the same platform.
Collateral as a second job for the token
Where traditional venues generally only accept cash or cash-equivalent collateral, Binance said tokenized equities are now doing “double duty” as both market exposure and collateral. Expanding that utility from trading into hedging, margin and risk management is the commercial bet behind the AUM headline — and why the disclaimer that bStocks are not shares still has to travel with every figure.
Why it matters
Tokenized stocks have moved from experiment to collateral and 24/7 trading product on large venues. TSN has covered related RWA threads — Binance bStocks as collateral in an earlier RWA week roundup, Perpetuals.com’s SEC innovation-exemption filing, and broader tokenisation explainers. The AUM milestone is a scale signal; the legal wrapper (ADGM certificates, not shares; US persons excluded) is the constraint that matters for readers.
Caveats
“Fastest” is Binance’s claim. AUM and volume are company/Dune-as-cited figures. bStocks ≠ equity ownership. US persons excluded. Leverage and collateral features raise risk; the release is marketing as well as disclosure.
What to watch next
- Whether independent RWA trackers corroborate the US$1 billion AUM
- Further listings beyond ~100 assets
- Any regulatory action outside ADGM affecting access
