AI spend governance means tracking and controlling what an organisation pays for AI tools, many of which charge by usage rather than a flat licence fee.
What Torii does
According to Freshworks, “Torii tracks AI consumption to the token, attributes it to the people and teams driving it, and forecasts where it’s heading, so IT can charge it back, set limits, and catch a spike while it’s still small” [1].
A token is a small chunk of text that AI models process; many AI services bill per token.
Freshworks argues that “AI’s consumption-based pricing has introduced a cost model most finance systems were never built to track” [1]. Torii was founded in 2017 [1].
