SpaceXSI’s official Grok Bot account (@bot) posted a product thread on 16 October 2026 (19:55 UTC / 20:55 BST) announcing “improvements to Grok Bot’s quality, polish, and speed,” plus UI, voice, chat and connector changes. Elon Musk later wrote that “Grok @Bot got much faster.”
The speed lines are company claims. The thread does not publish a benchmark suite, workload mix or measurement method.
Speed claims (company figures)
In the same thread, @bot wrote: “Grok Bot is much faster. Computer tasks finish 3x sooner on average, and replies to everything else arrive in less than half the time.”
Treat “3x” and “less than half” as SpaceXSI’s own averages, not third-party timings. Musk separately claimed the team “makes around around 20 improvements per day to Grok @Bot” (18 October) — quote his doubled “around” as written, or paraphrase as roughly twenty daily improvements.
Look, voice and notifications
Also from the @bot thread, verified via X:
- “Cards in chat have a new design with a cleaner layout.”
- “Grok Bot has a refreshed look with a new typeface and themes.”
- “Voice calls with Grok Bot are faster, more reliable, and better at remembering past conversations.”
- “Notifications now go only to the device you’re using.”
Voice improvements sit alongside SpaceXSI’s separate Grok Voice 3.0 speech stack; this thread does not rename that model.
X Chat, tagging and email aliases
@bot: “Grok Bot can now read X Chat. Connect X, then ask Bot to work across your messages.” The post quotes an earlier user demo that X Chat access was already live earlier on 16 October — the company thread is the official confirmation for the product update package.
The thread also restates: “Tag @bot in a post on X and Grok Bot gets to work,” and that “Grok Bot’s email now supports plus aliases, so you can set a routine to run only on mail sent to one address.” Per Research’s note, plus aliases and @bot tagging had already appeared before this thread; they are included here as part of the company’s update list, not as brand-new discoveries.
Connectors and marketplace
@bot: “Grok Bot now connects to Robinhood, Coinbase, Trello, PostHog, beehiiv, eToro, and more. Teams can also now submit connectors to the Grok Bot marketplace.”

What’s still unknown
- How SpaceXSI defined “computer tasks” and measured the 3x / half-time averages
- Whether every listed connector is generally available in all regions
- Marketplace submission criteria and review SLAs
What this means
Via @bot on X, Grok Bot’s 16 October update packages a company speed claim (computer tasks 3x sooner on average; other replies under half the prior time), UI and voice polish, device-scoped notifications, X Chat reading, and a connector list including Robinhood, Coinbase, Trello, PostHog, beehiiv and eToro, with teams invited to submit marketplace connectors. Keep the multipliers labelled as claims until a method appears.
