Design studio New Material is joining Mistral. In an announcement dated 14 October 2026, New Material said it is “bringing design to the delivery of mission-critical AI for enterprises and governments.” No deal value was disclosed.
Solutions Design
New Material said it is establishing a new Mistral team called Solutions Design. Working across design, engineering and AI, the team “will co-develop with customers, creating a tight feedback loop between real-world deployment and Mistral’s products.”
Zach Krasner, Head of Design at Mistral, said: “Great design is critical to delivering powerful AI solutions, which is why we’re excited to welcome New Material to Mistral.”
Nicolas Schuhl, Head of Applied AI at Mistral, said embedding product thinking into deployment will “accelerate our mission to deliver sovereign AI solutions with outsized customer value.”
Background
New Material said that six years after founding it has shipped AI-native tools across automotive, retail, legal and healthcare with partners including Ford, Rafael Nadal, the Wellcome Trust and AmLaw 50 firms. Those client names are New Material’s.
