Cohere has signed a letter of intent for a proposed agreement to acquire AISLE, a company building autonomous systems to discover and remediate previously unknown vulnerabilities in critical software. Cohere’s blog post is dated 15 October 2026. AISLE published a matching post the same day. Neither side disclosed a price, and the deal is not closed.
What Cohere said
“Today Cohere announced a proposed agreement to acquire AISLE,” the company wrote, framing the move as another step toward a sovereign AI platform that combines frontier models, agentic applications, secure deployment infrastructure and advanced security capabilities.
Cohere tied the deal to its European footprint. “Following our acquisition of Reliant AI and partnership with Aleph Alpha, the addition of AISLE would deepen our presence across the region and strengthen European AI and cybersecurity capabilities,” the post said.
What AISLE claims to have found
Founded in 2025, AISLE says it builds AI systems that discover, validate and help remediate previously unknown vulnerabilities in complex production software. In its first year, according to Cohere (repeating AISLE’s figures), AISLE discovered more than 500 previously unknown vulnerabilities assigned CVEs across more than 100 codebases, including all 12 vulnerabilities in OpenSSL’s January security release and 18 of the 24 CVEs in curl’s latest release. Those are company claims about AISLE’s track record; the findings are described as independently reviewed by the relevant software maintainers.
What AISLE said about people and Prague
AISLE’s own post confirms the LoI and adds organisational detail not in Cohere’s blog: when the transaction completes, AISLE’s Prague headquarters will become Cohere’s Prague office. All three co-founders say they will continue with Cohere:
- Ondrej Vlcek, AISLE CEO → Senior Vice President, Cohere Cyber (a new unit)
- Jaya Baloo → Cohere’s global Chief Information Security Officer
- Dr Stanislav Fort, AISLE CTO and chief scientist → Vice President, AI Security, working with Cohere co-founder and CTO Ivan Zhang
AISLE said customer and partner focus remains on continuity and stronger products, with more detail as the transaction progresses.
Why Cohere wants security next to the model
Cohere argues that as enterprises move AI into production, security, governance and air-gapped or on-premises deployment are becoming adoption gates. Bringing AISLE’s autonomous vulnerability research closer to Cohere’s frontier-model development, the company says, could both strengthen cyber products and provide hard, verifiable security problems for evaluating and improving models.
Expected combined capabilities listed by Cohere include advanced threat detection, stronger governance and monitoring for AI agents, better protection for sensitive data, support for private cloud / on-prem / air-gapped deployments, and cyber-resilient systems that identify and respond to emerging threats. Those are forward-looking statements about a deal that has not closed.
Context for AI deal-making
TSN has covered other recent AI tuck-ins, including Mistral’s acquisition of New Material and Prime Intellect’s acquisition of Moondream. Cohere’s AISLE move is different in emphasis: cyber-resilience and sovereign deployment rather than creative tooling or multimodal inference. It is also still only an LoI.
Caveats
Say proposed / letter of intent, not acquired. No purchase price. CVE tallies and OpenSSL/curl counts are Cohere/AISLE claims. Closing conditions, timing and regulatory clearances are not detailed in the posts.
